Tupac Hummer H1 auctioned
The famous “west side” rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur (aka “2PAC”) was a fan of nice cars. Before his death by drive-by shooting back in 1996 in Las Vegas, big cars were part of the rapper’s lifestyle. It’s all part of the game. Among all the many cars he has owned, one has resurfaced and is about to be auctioned by RR Auction’s Marvels of Modern Mustic online auction. As the name of the auction states, it’s online, so if you’re a crazy rap fan, you might want to prepare for this: between May 12th and May 19th. Get ready for Item #7554
Tupac came in possession of the car in August 1996, that’s less than a month before he was shot. The car has seen other owners and been driven since 1996, which is actually a good thing: it means the car wasn’t collecting dust, away in some parking garage. This black Hummer H1 is severely modified, featuring custom details such as a 360º spotlight, an array of 38-inch off-road lights mounted on the roof, an external public address system, and the word “ELIMINATOR” in giant white letters above the rear driver’s side fender. That is properly BADASS (though vry very ironic). Talk about a big cat.
Estimated price? +100,000$, give or take. We’ll see if it eventually works that way.
As far as the interior, it’s definitely very luxurious and it’s completely in accord with the retro style of cars back then. Quite a cliché actually! Wooden parts and beige leather: it doesn’t get more “old school” than that (take a look at the photos). This is how Tupac Hummer H1 auctioned and hopefully we’ll see it more? Though I’m not the biggest fan of the Hummer family, the H1 is probably my favorite of the bunch considering it’s iconic status: it’s one of those immense typical “american” cars that scream “MURICA” and “F-YOU” when you’re in it (also, so many people will crack a joke about owners trying to compensate for something).
