Nissan GTR sets drift record
The Nissan GTR sets drift record with Masato Kawabata (the Japanese drift champion series) behind the wheel. Obviously, the Nissan GTR is not your common car, it is hugely appreciated among car enthusiasts (I would even dare to say there are some pretty hardcore GTR fan boys out there lol). However, it is no easy thing to break a world record, especially one involving speed & drifting, which basically requires a LOT of skills.
This is why they built a monster: a Nissan GTR Nismo with 1380 horse power… Now what’s the speed record you ask me? Well… let’s go straight to the point: 189,49 mph (that’s +304 km/h)! This was enough power to allow the japanese pilot to drift at a 30 degree angle. Video comes courtesy of Nissan Middle East.
This new world record has taken place at the Fujairah Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Just so you know, the previous record was a 218 km/h drift speed, set by Jakub Przygonski behind the wheel of a modded Toyota GT86. Well, now it’s a Nissan GTR sets drift record boys! I’m fairly certain my friend Marchettino is really excited about this haha.
