New two-tone Bugatti Chiron in Obernai !
The hype from the 2016 Geneva Motor Show is barely over, even though there have been quite a few major events since (like Goodwood’s 74th MM or the NY motor show). But the Bugatti Chiron is in everyone’s minds still, including mine. After first discovering the new four-wheeled monster from Bugatti, and seeing it in the flesh a day later in Geneva, I have to admit it was quite a success. Instant success might I add. When they released more renderings for the Chiron, everyone immediately picked-up on the potential of the cars, as far as different liveries go. I for one was very excited about this, as I always say!
Up until now, we had only seen factory car, and they were all sort of dark and sober. Well, now we can finally see an official customer-ordered Bugatti Chiron driving on the roads. The two-tone Chiron has been spotted in Obernai (in Alsace France, not too far from the Molsheim factory) by instagram user @vanvouche. The car is probably undergoing a few tests (though I don’t seem to see a lot of protection stickers – except maybe around the trademark C-shape of the Chiron).
Sadly and to my great despair, it’s also probably a US-spec car, judging by the little turning signal lights on the sides (EU-spec cars don’t usually have those). But still, it’s so nice to see new blood driving, and the first combination is quite nice.
Some have heavily critized the back of the car, which looks like a big black mass. I can understand the critics and this point of view, but I really like it. Each back will probably be similar, and I just don’t see it painted red, white or blue.. unlike a diffuser!
