LEGO Speed Champions – Celebrating Ford’s return
Here is the LEGO Speed Champions tribute! The 24 Hours of Le Mans start this saturday, june 18th 2016. I’ve been talking to you about this for quite a while, considering this is the Ford’s big return to the most famous endurance race in the world. The story is well-known, after a little feud between Ferrari & Ford, the latter decided to build a car to beat Ferrari in their own playground. And this is how the Ford GT40 was built. And it beat the Ferraris in 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969. And then, they left. Veni, Vidi, Vici.
So it’s pretty normal that 50 years after their first 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 1966, everyone is really excited about the big Ford come-back in GT3 (indeed, it’s not in LMP1). Everyone is talking about it. Even the danish company LEGO! It’s not usunusual for the small brick-maker to do things related to the automobile. And this time they’ve released a pretty cool video on their Facebook page, celebrating Ford’s return. I’ll let you find out on your own
Sadly, they do mention that this is just a celebration video, and the models seen in it won’t be made or part of a LEGO set. It’s all just for fun, as they say. Well, this LEGO Speed Champions video is definitely my kind of fun! Kudos!
