Koenigsegg Naraya first time
Today, after a short embargo of a few days, we can finally see pictures of the brand new Koenigsegg Naraya. This is the first Koenigsegg Agera RS due for Europe. It will be officially and physically revealed during the 2016 Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance (taking place in Blenheim Palace, UK).
The car is heavily customized. It has a blue clear-carbon finish throughout the body with quite a few gold touches, both in the exterior and in the interior as well. But it’s not just “gold”, it’s actual gold leaf (as you can see from the pictures). All the work done on the gold leaf was made by an italian craftman at Koenigsegg’s headquarters in Angelholm. As far as the interior, it has blue alcantara with gold parts & stitching… and an 18-carat yellow gold “Naraya” plate with 155 diamonds! Talk about luxurious interior, maybe actually a bit too much? Still, the car is absolutely gorgeous. The blue & gold color combo is perfectly balanced (though some more gold might’ve been even better haha). I can’t help but think of the Agera HUNDRA when I look at the car, though they’re both completely different. When it’s a sunny day, that’s when the Naraya fully expresses its beauty to the world, with the carbon fiber being more noticeable.
Now what you’ve all been waiting to know: why Naraya? Well, as you’ve probably expected, it’s quite personal, and it is closely assosicated with the lucky owner’s family. I’ve always appreciated when owners pick specific names for their cars, especially when we’re dealing with limited-edition cars. It makes the whole process of ordering a car that much more personal & human, as well as easing things up for us enthusiasts (Hundra, XS, Special One etc… same goes with Pagani, 760LH, Fantasma…). After seeing Lamborghiniks’ Agera XS (first US-spec Agera RS) in Monterey, it would be pretty cool to see the Koenigsegg Naraya first in line as well one of these days haha!
