Driving an F40 through the Alps
Everyone here knows about EVO. Most of you know the likes of Harry Metcalfe & Henry Catchpole, the guys behind EVO and you all know about their amazing job in the automobile world. Let’s face it, being able to work with cars is incredible and a real privilege, especially if that’s what you’re into. Sometimes, you also get to do some very very cool stuff. Driving awesome Ferrari cars, anyone?
Just like in this video, where Henry Catchpole has an absolutely incredible road trip through the Alps behind the wheel of a Ferrari F40. It’s not an uncommon thing to look for great roads when driving supercars, and France, Switzerland and Italy aren’t cheap when it comes to great scenic roads. So can you imagine doing them driving a monument of automobile? This is what exactly what happens: starting from Zurich (Switzerland) and their beautiful roads, full of marvellous passes and great scenery, and heading south then back to England. The Ferrari F40 is one of those iconic supercars from Maranello that you simply love no matter what.
In the video Henry Hatchpole talks about the Ferrari F40 and its handling, which is well known for not being the easiest one (I mean sure, some people drift it in the snow, but that’s just a whole other level of badassery). Every driving aspect of the car is evoqued: the clutch, the gearbox, the wheels. As he says “It’s FUN”, but definitely not the best car to do a +1000km roadtrip: it’s loud, it’s not the most comfortable. But hey, it’s an F40.
Taking an F40 through the Alps is definitely a great experience, as you’ll see from the GoPro footage. The F40 is an unforgiving car, but it gives so much pleasure behind the wheel, though it gets some time to get used to. It’s definitely entertaining to hear the feedback from a guy like Catchpole, who knows his cars.
