320 kmh inside the Ferrari FXX-K
Remember when Ferrari unveiled its FXX-K in Abu Dhabi a few years ago? Some hand-picked Ferrari owners were offered one, others probably had to ask for one. If you didn’t make the cut, I feel for you. I know how it is, I was denied one as well. But don’t worry, because we know how those things handle on track thanks to videos & photographers.
But did you know how it is… from the inside?
Well, thanks to my friend Jason (aka SpeedRacer38), you can. He attended the 2016 Finali Mondiali at the Daytona International Speedway (Florida). That lucky bastard has spent a few days surrounded by an insane amount of prancing horses, including some of the rarest in the world (with quite a bunch of one-offs / Special Projects as well). But the Finali Mondiali is also the last home for the XX Program of the season. And Jason knows his way.
We get to have a view inside the Ferrari FXX-K (which is not as good as being behind the wheel, granted) and see it blasting at +320km/h at the Daytona International Speedway and its famous “bank”. You gotta love the sound of the V12 and the interior which clearly looks like a spaceship! But the most awesome thing to me? Is the fact you se it racing alongside many other FXX-K and 599XX, which is what this is all about!!! By the way, it’s the wonderful white & black FXX-K bearing number 40, if you were wondering.
The FXX-K is a 2,5million euros track car built by Ferrari for some privileged and lucky owners, so they can either race during the “XX program” racing days, or they can either ask Ferrari to bring their car wherever and whenever they want (provided a hefty fee, obviously).
