Our 2016 carweek frivolities started with the 100|OCT drive to Monterey. We started off south of San Francisco for a +300 km-long drive organized by 100|OCT. A bunch of amazing cars were present that morning. I was aware of a few cars, but I didn’t really pay that much attention: I like to be surprised.Among the cars present: a Porsche 918 spyder, Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 599 GTB (with a very interesting livery), Ferrari LaFerrari, Carrera GT, Spyker, Lamborghini Huracan, Nissan GTR, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, and many more… Seeing my 2nd Lykan Hypersport was pretty damn amazing too. There also was the RIMAC Concept_One (I’ve done a whole article about it).
There was “RaceWife’s amazing giallo tristrato Ferrari LaFerrari with blue carbon-fiber parts and its custom plate (as usual, a very special detail). Seeing it during that drive ended up being a good thing for me, because I didn’t get to see her cars again during the whole of carweek (no time to check the place they were parked at lol).
The cool surprise I didn’t expect was to see zalasin with his black Porsche Carrera GT. He kindly offered me a ride until the next stop (we visited Canepa). I obviously accepted, and had the time of my life. Americans seem to drive pretty fast in general haha. The Canepa visit was absolutely incredible too. I got to see some very good-looking cars, including the last Ferrari to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans: a mythical 250 LM, which has been kept in condition. As well as my first orange Porsche 918, and many many other marvels (like the unique Carrera GT concept). Needless to say, this 100|OCT drive was very well organized! Thank you Benoît! 😉
