Mysterious McLaren spotted on the road !
This mysterious McLaren was spotted on the road by Eddie, a member of the Supercars Club when he was in the Autoroute A26, near Reims (France). First things first: the car is CLEARLY a McLaren, I don’t think there is an issue with that for anyone. Now that we’ve taken this off the table, the big question remains: what exactly is this McLaren?
Here are a few things we can say and I think we can all agree on: it’s a road-legal car that looks like a massive race car. Also, it appears to be a mule / test-car, judging by the factory plate + typical matte black colour (also, it seems english manufacturers love to test their cars around the Reims area for some reason lol). According to the Supercars Club, it’s apparently a spyshot of a “McLaren 688 High Sport“, which would be an ultra limited-edition of 25 cars. Apparently only 675LT owners can place an order. The looks & name suggest it might be more powerful than the 675 LT, yet still below the P1 as far as the range goes (despite the more exclusive numbers)!
I can’t deny nor confirm this information at the moment obviously, but we can only guess and speculate, which is still pretty cool. As I told you during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, I felt like the McLaren range was getting bigger and bigger and it made things a bit difficult to follow. Guess what? This is NOT helping lol.
In case you were wondering, and because I’m always here for you and to explain everything that needs explaining, the Supercars Club is a group of exotic car owners founded a few years ago that organizes a bunch of car-related events & adventures, as well as attending many other events.
