The Ferrari SP 275 RW is the latest bespoke one-off to come out of Maranello. Having a Ferrari is one thing, but having YOUR own Ferrari is a whole different world. Luckily for those people who want to have “THEIR” Ferrari and be part of the firm’s history, Ferrari has created the “Special Projects” department: they will create a one-off car just for you, based on an existing car and bespoke to your needs. Obviously, you will need a comfortable bank account, with the prices of “Special Projects” rumoured to be at least a few million (whatever currency you chose). There are already quite a few around. I’ll name but a few: the F12 TRS, the 458MM Speciale, the P540 Superfast Aperta, the Superamerica 45, the SP12 EC… and now… meet the Ferrari SP 275 RW Competizione.
The car is heavily inspired by the Ferrari 275 GTB, hence the name. All throughout the car, you will find reminders of this glorious “classic” from the brand (mainly with all the vents). Obviously, it was a futuristic touch. The car was built on the chassis of an F12 Berlinetta, but is equipped with the engine & gearbox from the more powerful and efficient F12 TDF. Talk about a real monster on wheels. Speaking of wheels: the 20″ forged alloys are UNIQUE to the car. The owner basically has his OWN car and his OWN wheels. BALLER.
Funnily enough, the car was first seen completely out of the blue, at the 2017 Finali Mondiali in Daytona. So the italian company didn’t communicate about it before-hand and there were no spyshots on the internet, it was a total surprise for all enthusiasts. Funny fact: the name of the car suggested a lot of debate as to “who” was the lucky owner. The “RW” part made everyone think it was “RaceWife”! 🙂
