It’s official and the information comes straight from Ford themselves: the first Ford GT is off the assembly line. This means the road-legal Ford GT deliveries could begin real soon, before the end of 2016 (I was starting to lose hope)! Just in time for Christmas (talk about a wonderful gift under the tree, right?). Well, at least for one person that is, though I’m fairly certain a few more will come out before 2017.
That’s actually some pretty cool news that a lot of petrol heads were waiting for. Everyone was wondering WHEN will the new Ford GT arrive?? After its debut in Geneva and its famous “LaFord”, so many things have happened. There was global praise for the car. There was a very opaque and debated selection process. There was some sort of online configurator to give you an idea of how things might eventually look. They even managed to win the 24 hours of Le Mans in their category, 50 years after they come-back! Basically, 2016 was quite a FULL YEAR for Ford, and they’ve managed to do a lot.
But there is still much we don’t know about the car, the process to get one, and I guess this is how Ford wants to keep it. But now we finally know one thing: the first car car is off the assembly line. A gorgeous black unit with orange racing stripes, black wheels, orange calipers and interior. All in all, a very interesting spec, if you ask me! How would you have picked yours?
I wonder who will it go to? Fancy to take a guess? Judging by the massive want all over the world and the fact that only 200 units will come out every year… It’s probably someone very high-up the Ford trust list…
