Ford GT specs? Damn right! We’ve been waiting for those for quite some time now. Basically, Ford has been teasing us with their new supercar for more than a year now, and we’ve enjoyed it so far. I even had the luxury to spend a whole night with the Ford GT in Paris, back in September 2015! Since then, a LOT has happened. As in a lot a lot: they won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, they had a long application process for ownership (over 7000 people applied), and we’ve even seen the first cars roll out of the factory.

THE FORD GT
But until now, we didn’t have a lot of information about the car itself. Guess what? We do now. Ford issued a press release where they stated that their new Ford GT is « the fastest Ford production vehicle on the track ever ». Honestly? I’d be surprised if it weren’t the case, after all that technology & success from Le Mans.
Here are the new Ford GT specs: The new american supercar has the 3,5L V6 EcoBoost engine delivering 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. Top speed? 216 mph.
Well, well, well. What can we say. First of all, everyone had expectations about the car, so Ford could NOT disappoint. Not only their clients, but the general public as well. And even though there has been a lot of criticism on their V6 engine, it seems to have proved its point and be able to tackle with the likes of the McLaren 675LT & Ferrari 458 Speciale. Funnily enough, this is an element that doesn’t put the new Ford GT in the « hypercar » family, with the likes of the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 or Ferrari LaFerrari.

This car really seems all about performance, as said Raj Nair (Ford executive VP), mainly because of the weight saving and active aerodynamics).
